The experience of playing on outdoor basketball courts will differ greatly from the usual indoor matches. Perhaps the biggest difference is the exposure to the elements. You have to consider the weather and the time of day when you go out there.
During summer, it can get pretty hot in the middle of the day. This will make you feel tired much quicker than if you are inside an air-conditioned shaded indoor stadium. If it is raining, you can still play but you have to be careful about slipping and getting hurt. If the wind is strong, then the trajectory of your shots can be affected.
The playing surface is different as well. Most outdoor courts have hard concrete flooring that’s hard on the joints unless it is located in an advanced facility that may use cushioned acrylic surface or similar materials. Meanwhile, indoor gyms usually have hardwood floors.
