It has been stated time and again that the “children are our future”. Those who are children or teens today will become the school teachers, police force, parents and leaders of nations in the future.
Making an investment in our youth is both noble and time well spent. Many have found that they are able to make a difference by volunteering a portion of their time each week or month to spend with young ones. If you are able to actively participate in the lives of children and teens as a Youth Group Volunteer, you have experienced the joys that come from helping others.
Our young people need good role models that they can look up to and imitate. They need to have adults that they can talk to who have their best interests at heart and they need to feel safe and cared for. Many adults will readily admit that they would not be where they are today without having experienced the care and support of these marvelous volunteers.
It many not be glamorous and the pay is lousy but the rewards you get from helping young people tap into and achieve their potential is priceless. You can experience these rewards for yourself if you volunteer.
