There are various womens self defence classes to choose from, although some initial research ensures you get the most out of the experience. Classes can vary length from a couple of hours to a course spread over several weeks or months. There is also the cost to consider, and some longer courses have the option of making payments. Look at the class makeup too – old or young, experienced or beginner. One of the most important considerations is whether you want a female or male instructor; a female instructor can perhaps better identify with what you may face, and many women understandably feel more comfortable trained by a female. Look for a course that covers the basics, rather than tries to pack too much in at once; a good self defence class will also cover communication skills, assertiveness and easy to learn physical techniques and moves.
