Why Use Reclaimed Barn Siding

Reclaimed barn siding is a hot trend in home decor right now. The siding can be used in home construction projects as well as in creating custom furniture such as tables, desks, and benches. There are several reasons for the popularity of this type of material. Old wood lends an air of rustic authenticity in an age when so much of our modern decor consists of plastic, glass, and metal. It provides people with a touch of historic and sentimental connection to the past. A barn that stood for a hundred years need not be torn down and completely destroyed.

Using reclaimed wood is a way of showing that a person is concerned about the environment and would prefer to recycle existing wood rather than purchasing new wood that required living trees to be cut down. Reclaimed siding can also be used as a substitute for buying vinyl planking made from synthetic materials.
