What Are Golf Club Loft Degrees?

Golf club loft degrees refer to the angle of the club face from the perpendicular; that is, how angled it is in relation to the shaft. This degree of the loft angle of the club is relative to the vertical plane rather than the ground. The distance that a golf ball will travel depends on the length of the shaft of the club, how hard the player hits the ball and the degree of loft of the club face. A driver, for instance, has the longest shaft and the lowest loft.

Golfers usually carry up to 14 clubs in their bag that will range from the low loft degree of a driver to the high loft degrees wedges. The more loft degrees a club has, the higher the ball will go in the air and the higher the number of the club.
