Police dogs are highly trained animals who get training for years before they get to partner along with police for search operations and chasing convicts. Just like police officers the police dog is able to access the crime and give a proper response to the situation.
Most police dog attacks are exercises where dogs learn to chase the suspects and subdue them. They are able to hold and control the culprit while the police arrive and capture them.
