Your cat brings so much joy to your life. Jumping into your lap for a snuggle, chasing flies in summer and hiding in the occasional sink. What is not always so joyous is cleaning out the litter box. Toilet training your cat can eliminate the pesky chore of scooping, sifting and holding your nose.
The first step in toilet training your cat is moving the litter box closer and closer to the toilet until the box sits right beside it. Every couple of days, you can begin to raise the box higher, being sure to elevate the box on a sturdy base. Take away the litter box and place over the toilet a specialized kitty seat made especially for toilet training a kitty. Fill the seat with a flushable form of litter and be patient. It may take a while for your cat to master this new way of doing things but the hard work is well worth the reward, freeing you up to stop scooping and start spending your time doing what the two of you love most… anything that involves being together.
