Sailing can be a great experience for your entire family – either parents and children or grown-up siblings. This is why an increasing amount of younger and older people engage in the sport by starting sailing classes.
Sailing can be done individually and a way to meditate and think about life or as a group activity in a family unit. There are several lessons and schools that cater specifically to adults and children separately. Just keep in mind that children have age and height limits, so very young children are not all qualified to sail. Most places allow kids from 9 or 10 years and up and have sailboats designed especially for children. Up to this point, make sure your kids learn how to swim.
Make sure to find a sailing school near your home for added practicality, since the class will likely last for a few weeks.
