Live crickets can be acquired for the nourishment of different animals. For their young, sufficiently small pinhead crickets would be the most suitable. These are nearly the same size as an ant making them easy to swallow and digest for bay frogs, chameleons, bearded dragons, and other reptiles. Their bodies are soft as their exoskeletons have not yet been fully formed. Their digestion should not be a problem for those feeding on them.
The best ones are wingless as they are easy to catch and eat for the pets. They are also quiet without the constant buzzing of wings so feeding becomes less stressful and possible at any time of the day. Because of their soft bodies, sellers often ship them without food like a potato that is usually found in shipments of larger crickets. Prices are generally reasonable and will depend on the number per box.
