Corporate innovation and learning requires mentoring and training that will lead to new ideas, services and business models. Larger organizations are now training employees to be innovation facilitators, trainers and coaches. Organizations have also begun training employees specifically to achieve innovation through design thinking events. An innovation coach can promote innovation and learning by working one-on-one with an employee to help them develop an idea they might have or how to advance its uptake within the organization.
An education program could begin with an online course that employees can take that provides the tools for implementing design thinking. Facilitators or innovation coaches could then provide design thinking workshops to employees. This could also be done by inviting a professional innovation facilitator to work with selected employees. There are also train the trainer programs for design thinking and innovation facilitators that could be provided to a key company employee who then promotes innovation in the organization among other employees.
