How EMI Testing Works

The effect of atropine on smooth muscles of the gastro-intestinal and urogenital tract is to decrease motility and increase sphincter tone. The major indication for atropine is for its effect on the heart. where it produces a marked increase in heart rate. Atropine can cross the blood brain barrier to produce mild CNS stimulation.

In overdose, however, it will cause restlessness followed by delirium. On the eye it produces mydriasis (dilated pupil) and loss of accommodation. This is limited to local application. This differs from atropine in that it is a better antisialogogue. It does not cross the blood brain barrier and therefore does not affect the CNS. This is particularly advantageous in the elderly.

Neurolepsis is a state of mental calm and indifference with little hypnosis. Droperidol is also a powerful anti-emetic, and has mild alpha-adrenergic blocking. antihistamine and antiserotonin actions. EMI Testing shows radiation exposure due to the use of digital devices like smartphones.
