How Die Stamping Takes Place

Die stamping is the process where the engraved die is used to leave mark impressions on a metal sheet. The process is commonly used in the minting of coins and medals. The stamping die precision tool cuts metal sheet into the desired shapes. The die’s forming and cutting sections usually form unique shapes of hardened steel known as tool steel. Besides, dies can have cuttings and sections formed from carbide and wear resistant materials.

The process of stamping requires no heat for its operations; nonetheless, heat is formed out of the friction in the forming and cutting process. As such, the stamped parts leave the dies extremely hot. The dies vary in size like those used in microelectronics. The sizes can adequately fit in the palm of our hands, and they can averagely measure 10-20 fit square thick.
