A mixture of microcapsules comprises a distribution of microcapsules variable in measure and thickness of the walls; consequently, the result is a release speed different from 0, 1/2 or 1. Therefore, it is very important to carefully examine on an experimental basis the speed of release from a set of microcapsules and to establish if the deviation of the theory is due to the variation in the dimensions or in the thickness of the walls. Based on the data collected, the microencapsulation process can be optimized as needed for General Health Programs.
