Guide To Engineering Fabrication

Wrought iron is modeled and hanger hot and cold. It can be sawed, chiselled, filed, drilled, soldered and soldered. It protects itself from oxidation with paint or wax. Uses: decorative objects such as grills, doors and chains.

Ferrous metal containing about 4% carbon and traces of silicon, manganese and phosphorus. The cast iron is fragile but with a very hard crust. It breaks under the impact of a shock or a fall. It can be sawed, filed or pierced, but it breaks down and is difficult to weld. It corrodes slowly. Uses in engineering fabrication include blocks of cylinders, piston rings, body of vices and grates of hearths.

Brass is also called brass yellow, brass is a copper containing 20 to 40% zinc. Sheet brass is used in various stages of hardening, from the soft to the hardest. It can be lacquered and shaped easily.
