Google app recovery is generally automatic for most users. If a document was saved on a remote Google account, then that document should be available for all devices. The same goes for individual apps. Mobile device users who’ve downloaded a large number of apps can expect that their apps will always be there. If a device must be re-imaged, then Google app recovery subroutines will allow users to download those apps again without losing anything that wasn’t stored locally.
Individuals with rooted phones or tablets might not be able to activate these automatic app recovery technologies. Fortunately, there are several new open-source tools that can do this job and recover locally stored documents too. While users who want to install these tools will need the ability to install apps from outside sources in order to do so, those with rooted devices more than likely already have this ability along with the prerequisite technical acumen to do so.
