Electronic Flight Instrument System is a flight deck instrument system that uses electronic display technology. This device show information via cathodes ray tubes technology. Instrument displays are shown via color multi-color liquid crystal display screens. This replaces all conventional flight instruments for both pilots.
The EFIS Aviation comprises of:
-Primary light display
-Automatic Horizontal situation indicator(AEHSI)
-Direction indicator
The AEHSI
The AEHSI is also referred to as the navigation display. It replaces the devices on the conventional aircraft instrument panel. It is used to show the following information:
-Weather information
-Ground and distance speed
-Lateral deviation
-Aeronautical map
-Heading/track selected
-Heading flown
The primary display, on the other hand, is used to integrate information historically presented on electromechanical devices. This information is necessary for pilots to determine the flight parameters
