Dog Bite Statistics Are Revealing

Dog bite statistics that are gathered across the country reveal interesting details about the canine injuries. The information gathered has revealed what breeds are most likely to do the biting, what areas are most frequently bitten, and the average annual cost of the injuries inflicted by canines.

The most frequently sought out information is what breeds are most responsible for bites. The majority of all bites are inflicted by Pit Bulls. This breed is followed by Rottweilers and then German Shepards. Interestingly, it is not easily discernible in the statistics how many German Shepard attacks and bites were attributed to police canines.

What is also apparent in the statistics is the amount of money the injuries cost every year. In 2017 the monetary losses caused by the injuries amounted to nearly one billion dollars. The majority of bites occur to the arms and legs of the body.
