The primary focus of Drug Awareness Training to sensitize individuals on drugs, alcohol and substance abuse and strategies to stop, avoid and help those with substance disorders recover. This program works excellently when done to younger children. The training and sensitization should start with parents to educate their children and in institutions of learning aimed at increasing knowledge of drugs.
For the youth, this training and sensitization must be included in the school curriculum. This education is essential to the whole population in entirety to eradicate misconceptions attached to the use of both legal and illegal drugs. With knowledge, people can make informed decisions and understand the repercussions associated with the use of given drugs. Sensitized adults will help pass this knowledge to their children at the right time and children grow with facts concerning the use of drugs.
