Acrylic Sheeting As Glass Alternative

Glass is a wonderful material with endless applications owed to its transparency and rigidness. The problem is that it can be quite expensive, heavy, and prone to shattering. A number of processes can help toughen it but those will only add to the already high cost. The good news is that there are a number of excellent alternatives which are being used in various industries. One of them is acrylic sheeting.

Acrylic sheets can be transparent or opaque. They can be of any color imaginable. Although they are rigid, they can still be flexible and are much less likely to break apart compared to glass. Therefore, they are better suited to applications wherein glass may be in jeopardy such as placement in crowded areas for advertising. They are also used for shielding valuable items in stores, museums, and the like.
